Rockstar has announced L.A. Noire for PlayStation 4, Switch and Xbox One. Those who own a HTC Vive will see self-contained cases from the game released.
L.A. Noire will be released on the consoles and HTC Vive November 14, proving rumors from earlier in the year to be true.
The Switch version of the title is the complete, original game and comes with all downloadable content. It has been enhanced to include a Joy-Con mode with gyroscopic, gesture-based controls, HD rumble and new wide and over-the-shoulder camera angles. It also includes contextual touch screen controls so players can take it on-the-go. It’s been eight years since Rockstar released a title for a Nintendo system, the last being Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars in 2009, so this is great news for Switch owners.
L.A. Noire for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One is also the complete version with previously released DLC.

Noire, which was originally released on PC, PS3 and Xbox 360 in 2011, includes the following cases and extra content: the Broderick and Sharpshooter Detective Suits, Badge Pursuit Challenge and Button Man Suit, the Naked City Vice Case, a Traffic Case called A Slip Of The Tongue, the Nicholson Electroplating Arson Case, the Vice Case Refer Madness, and a Traffic Case titles The Consul’s Car.
L.A. Noire: The VR Case Files for HTC Vive will contain seven, self-contained cases from the game rebuilt specifically for virtual reality. It’s the first VR title to be released by Rockstar.
Information on these cases were not available as of press time, but we’re looking into it.

Seeing as L.A. Noire was ported to PC, some restrictions remain. The most prevalent of these is the 30 FPS cap imposed on the PC version of this game. After struggling to find a solution to this in order to take the reigns off my newly minted gaming PC for this title, I have found a solution that works:

1) Download and run ArtMoney (http://www.artmoney.ru/e_download_se.htm) (completely safe)
2) Launch and enter the game
3) Alt-Tab to ArtMoney
4) In the 'Select process' dropdown list, select L.A. Noire and click on 'Search'

6) Click OK
7) Select the first value listen in the pane on the left

8) Change the Value column's value to one of the following to change the FPS cap:
- 119.88 - for 60 FPS cap
- 99.90 - for 50 FPS cap
- 79.92 - for 40 FPS cap
10) Alt-Tab back into the game

Black bars
If you play the game on 1080p and black bars appear around the screen, a temporary fix exists. Every time that you load/Alt-Tab into the game and the black bars appear, go to the game's graphics settings, change a value (e.g. anti-aliasing), apply it, change it back, apply it again and the black bars will be removed.
This fix will be undone whenever you exit/Alt-Tab out of the game, so it will have to be reapplied every time.

With the next gen consoles around the corner allowing for a redefinition of base-line performance, which do you prefer? Assume the framerates are locked (never rise/dip significantly).
24fps films have conditioned me to have no problems with 30fps gaming, and it is a good rule of thumb that running a game at 60fps actually divides your resources in 3 rather than the usually assumed 2. That generally results in frame-locked games having significantly less graphical fidelity when running at high frame-rates.
Is that worth it to you? Personally, I prefer prettier but locked at 30 - though I definitely don't mind it when a game runs at 60.
(oh, and of course having a Titan and running games at max settings @60+fps is best, but that isn't the purpose of this poll)
Rockstar's released a new trailer for L.A. Noire that's presented in 4K. You will of course need a 4K display to enjoy it in all its glory.
